Our Little Getaway

We took a couple days off work the end of this week to make a quick trip to the coast. We headed south to explore a few places we hadn't been to. It was a very relaxing trip and we loved spending the time together.

Lincoln City
Some beach time... the sun was out and we were lucky to catch this picture with Scott's eyes open.

We found several rocks on the beach with these perfectly cylindrical holes worn in them.

Scott found this driftwood with a mermaid on it.

We found some pretty soft rocks that would break easily... but every time
we went to capture King Kong crushing one on video, he just buried it... it was fun.

Newport
The Yaquina Head Lighthouse just north of Newport.  It is the tallest in Oregon and
other cool and important facts we can't remember.

It is getting harder and harder to find a flattering angle these days...

We strolled along the bayfront.

We ate a yummy seafood lunch overlooking the bay.

A couple sea lions sunbathing.

Yachats (pronounced ya-hots)
We stayed at a lodge/spa that was a lot of fun. Not pictured are the massages
and spa time. It was perfect!

We were right on a rocky beach and had a great view from our window.
We saw these cairns that someone had created... Scott was inspired and had to create one of his own.

It was much, much bigger of course...

Florence
This is Cape Perpetua, also known as the highest point on the Oregon coast.

There was a car show the next day in town so we saw some fun old cars.

We stopped by the sea lions cave. They sing beautiful songs...
We also saw a few orcas heading north from this view point. Very fun.

Most of the sea lions were outside enjoying the nice weather, but the cave was still really cool.

We found a windy beach and flew our patriotic kite.
