I Heart Cars

After having Ron and Tammy in town, cars were fresh on Scott's mind. This was a really good weekend for car shows, so we stopped at a couple and really enjoyed walking around together. Here are a few gems we found...

There was an all Ford car show downtown that had a lot of really fun stuff.
This is a real AC Cobra; he has been the only owner.
Thought of Grant when we saw a couple of these Sunbeam Tigers.
Shelby G.T. 350H.

Our First Guests

We spent last weekend with Scott's parents, Ron and Tammy. We had a ton of fun showing them the sites and spending time with them. Plus, they brought some good weather to share with us.

We showed them our office spaces downtown, visited the Beaverton Farmer's Market and enjoyed some tunes there, made a trip to a couple beaches and the Tillamook cheese factory, took a drive on the historic highway and stopped at Multnomah Falls, and Ron and Tammy were adventurous and ate Thai with us for their first time.

We captured more of the fun on their camera, but here are a few snapshots to give you an idea of the good times that were had.

Party Animals

The company Trisha works for held their office party at the Portland zoo. We thought it was fun since we hadn't been to a zoo in quite some time. We did see more animals, but we were in a hurry to get to the food before the buffet ran out... Scott had a good time meeting Trisha's co-workers and taunting the animals.
These bears were making out...we thought of Brit because she likes that sort of thing.
Trisha thought this little guy was cute...as little as a baby giraffe can be anyway.

Fourth of July Weekend

The three day weekend seemed to fly by, but we tried to cram in as many new fun things as we could. Here are some pictures we snagged:

We were the only ones flying the red, white, and blue.
These were almost as big as our kite.
This is Seaside, taken using a cool app on Scott's phone.
We stopped at Tillamook Cheese Factory and sampled some fresh squeeky cheese on the way home.
Before the half marathon and berry picking.
After finishing the half marathon... It was at Sauvie Island, pretty close to home.
They gave out some yummy strawberry shortcake to all the racers afterward.
A new brunch place on Hawthorne.
The breakfast of champions...there is sausage, biscuits, and eggs hidden under all that gravy.
No Portland breakfast menu would be complete without the breakfast cocktails.

We didn't get any pictures of Scott picking berries at the race, the barbeque we had with some friends from BYU, or the fireworks on Monday. All were a lot of fun, and we are bummed we didn't snap any photos of these festivities.

Night Driving

We drove up to the Basin after work last Friday for Trisha's cousin's wedding. We encountered a couple pests along the way...
Neither of us had seen this kind of carnage before. We learned our lesson about night driving.

Portland Randomness

This was a fun surprise at our apartment complex, especially after watching Dust to Glory.
No pizza joint is legit without pigs on the wall.
This isn't the first time we've seen pets eating out at the restaurants like us.
We now know where to refer people for the most progressive trends in wedding fashion.
I bet!
We were pulling into a parking spot at Nike to go on a little jog when we realized it was reserved for someone else.

More Portland People and Food

Vietnamese tacos, delish.
Fun Mexi spot close to home in Beaverton.
This was half of our meal, the other dish someone ate before Scott could get his camera out.
This is giant Scott eating a full size turkey drumstick... or was it quail?
A cool Italian spot by where Trisha works.
There is frozen yogurt under all these goodies.
This Italian spot in the Pearl District was great, but even better than the food was the old Italian owner singing songs and whistling at women passing by.
One of these is a dude... can you guess which one?

Seattle Day Trip

For Memorial Day, we met up with Trisha's family in Seattle for a Mariner's game.  We made a fun little day trip out of it starting with Pike's Place Market.  Here are some pictures from our trip.

Scott was excited when he found out that this is the market where they toss fish around.
We had some pastries at this Russian bakery at Pike's, yums.
